We will be continuing our work on 'Owl Babies' this week, using the internet and a range of non-fiction books to complete some research about Owls which will help us next week to write our very own 'Owl fact file'.
Mathematical Development
2D Shape - We will be using Venn and Carroll diagrams to sort a range of 2D shapes by their properties.
We will also be continuing our addition work, to 10/20 using a range of objects and 'counting on' strategies to help complete addition problems.
Our new learn-it this week is: 4+2=6
We will be completing our 'learn-it' challenge on Monday to see how well we know all of our learn-its that we have learnt so far.
Other areas of learning
We will be looking at the famous painting 'The Starry Night' by Vincent Van Gogh and exploring different techniques that he used to create our own version for our class display.
We will be learning all about nocturnal and diurnal animals and using our sorting skills to sort them in different ways and using collage materials to create some of our own.
Welsh - We will be consolidating our weather phrases and using them to help us learn all about 'dillad' clothes. Our new phrase is:
'Dw i'n gwisgo.....' I am wearing....
cot coat
crys-T T-Shirt
trowsus trousers
sgert skirt
ffrog dress
sanau socks
esgidiau shoes
jins jeans

Christmas Concert
Christmas concert practise is well under way, and the children are doing a fab job learning all the new songs. Our concert is called 'Lights, Camel, Action' and it's fantastic! We are all really looking forward to putting on the show for you! I will be getting together with the Year 2 staff this week to organise the parts so will be able to let you know ASAP.
Trip to Techniquest
We will be going on our trip to Techniquest on Friday. If you haven't already done so, please can you make sure the permission slips and bus donations are sent in ASAP? Unfortunately, it means we won't be in school for the Children in Need activities, but we will be joining in with the challenges during the week leading up to it.Thank you for your continued support.
