Week 2

I hope you all enjoyed the extra day off! A big thank you to all those who came in to class last week, the children were so proud of their work and they loved sharing it with you. I understand that it is not possible for all parents to visit us during the school day and at short notice. The models will be on display in our class, so if you would like to come and have a look, you are more than welcome to pop in at the end of the day when you are collecting your child.

Our new topic is 'Together, Stronger'. This topic will based upon developing positive relationships through a creative focus. Through this theme, we will be exploring 'growing things' and creating our very own class story linked to this theme.  
We began to discuss and explore ideas with the children on Friday through our focus story 'The Enormous Turnip'. 

Saesneg / Language, Literacy and Communication
Explore the features of a story.
Sequence the story using a story mountain / story map.

Mathemateg / Mathematical Development
CLIC
Estimating and using checking strategies.
Using addition and subtraction to solve missing number problems.

Other areas for development
Planting a range of seeds in our class planting area.
Explore and label different parts of a plant.

Learning log to be returned - new home-school task.

PE - Please remember trainers and a PE kit if you haven't already sent one in. Please include jogging bottoms in the PE kit as we will be outdoors for PE this term?
