Summer Term Wythnos 5

You Guys Rock You Rock GIF - YouGuysRock YouRock - Discover ...
Once again thank you for all your enthusiasm for the tasks set and the fantastic work you are continuing to do at home, Mrs Farrell and I are incredibly proud of you all.  We are missing you all lots too! Mrs Evans is going to start looking at all you wonderful work and beautiful photos on HWB and will be making some comments, so keep an eye out this week.

As you may have seen in Mrs Harries' parent letter last week, we have been contacting some families by phone since the beginning of lockdown and are now extending this to every pupil. The purpose of the phone call is to check in and support the wellbeing of our pupils and their families. It is also an opportunity to answer any questions you may have.
Mrs Farrell and I have enjoyed speaking with some of you over the past two weeks and we hope it helped to reassure you. We will continue to make calls this week and have a group of pupils to call each. This will be towards the end of the week and will be from a withheld number. We will have a quick chat with you parents but if your child does want to say hello, that would be lovely.

All We Need is Love and Kindness Week

Please see below our suggested activities for this week.

Task 1
Niall suggested that we tell our friends and family jokes. So we thought we would use this idea this week and want you to think of your favourite jokes and tell us them on discussions. Test them out on your parents first to see which ones are the funniest. I love a good joke, so I can't wait to see which ones you come up with.  It is good to laugh, especially at times of trouble; it's medicine for the soul! So go on Y Graig, make us chuckle!

Task 2
Tyler introduced us to the 5 Ways, which Mrs Farrell and I really like.  We have chosen two of the 5 Ways and thought of one activity which covers them both.

We would like you to Connect and Give this week.  In order to do this, we want you to design and create a card for a loved one, and send it to them.

Task 3
Annabel had the idea that we should all try a new job around the house every day which would help our parents or siblings. Take a look at the checklists below which I have put into this week's folder in files on our Hwb Class Page if you wanted some help choosing your chores.

Task 4

We have shared the main websites that we would use in school with you. So now it’s up to you. Think about how you will get active over the week. Choose from, Joe Wicks, Jump Start Jonny, GoNoodle, Cosmic Kids or your daily walk/scoot/bike ride.  You may also be having classes over Zoom too, such as dance.  George has suggested we all try a new exercise as part of this term's topic. What exercise are you going to try that will help you earn a 'Getting Active' J2Star this week?

Task 5
This week's Llyfr Yr Wythnos is 'The Love In My Heart' by Tim Bugbird and Nadine Wickenden.  This book will be uploaded to the Class Stories file on our Hwb Class Page.  Please listen to me reading you the story about Big and Boo on their journey home, where they discover anything is possible with a heart full of love!

Once you have listened to the story, we would like you to retell the story.  We would like you to do this using j2e5 on Hwb.

Click on this logo in J2Launch
You will then see this page:

You need to click on this icon to either add a video or record a sound clip.

Once you have retold the story, we would like you to 1 star and a wish against the following success criteria:

*  Start at the beginning and tell the story in order.
**  Use detail from the story.
***  Use a variety of connectives.

Task 6
We would like you to sequence the story using the pictures found in the Hwb Class File. You can choose the level of challenge for the activity from below:

*  Cut out pictures and stick in order.
**  Cut out pictures, stick in order and write simple sentence below.
***  Cut out the pictures, stick in order and write a sentence below using simple connectives.

Don't forget EVERYONE you start your sentences with a capital letter, there are finger spaces between each word and there should be a full stop at the end of the sentence.

Task 7
This week we would like you to work on your adding and subtracting skills by showing your understanding of one more and one less of a number up to 20.

In the Hwb Class File you will find 3 levelled challenges:
* Easiest
** Harder
*** Trickiest

Have a lovely week everyone. Don't forget we are only an email away if you need any support in the tasks set. We look forward to seeing the work you upload and chatting with you on discussions.

Take care and stay safe
