Children in Need (See below)
We know things have been tough recently, so this year the Children In Need Appeal is making children’s mental wellbeing their number one priority.
Five
to Thrive is their unique programme of wellbeing activities for their
Appeal Week (9th-13th Nov), led by Joe Wicks, Dr Radha and Blue Peter.
Inspired by the 5 Ways to Wellbeing, each day they have lots of content
and classroom resources designed to help children feel better about
themselves – as well as helping others. We will be delving into these
wonderful resources and choosing our favourites for our Children in Need
Day at school on Friday 13th November.
We are asking for a cash donation of £1 towards this very important cause, that as a school we have supported for many years. We are asking that the children come into school on Friday 13th in non-uniform. There is no specific theme to this year's appeal due to the current climate but as a school we have chosen Yellow or Spotty. Therefore, we would like the children to come into school with an item of clothing or accessory that is yellow or spotty. They may even wish to wear their pyjamas as we have in previous years. We do not want you to feel pressured to buy something new at such a challenging time, so the children can wear any non-uniform on the day if you do not have anything yellow or spotty.
As always we will keep you updated on the fun we have through our Twitter account and will hopefully make the appeal show with the total we raise Friday evening. We thank you in advance for your kind donations.
Rocket resources
Just a reminder, we will be making our rockets this week, so please can you send in your recycled resources for your child to use? They will need:
- Kitchen roll tubes (Unfortunately we are unable to use toilet rolls).
- Bottle tops/lids
- Cereal boxes / small cardboard boxes
- Yoghurt pots
Please can you send the resources in a plastic bag labelled with your child's name and ensure all items are clean?
