Unfortunately, I am having a few problems uploading the videos. I will look into this and hopefully be able to put them on here later or by tomorrow.
DIWALI
Our focus for the next fortnight will be Diwali, the Hindu festival of light which begins this year on October 30th.
We will be reading the story of Rama and Sita and learning all about the traditions of the festival and how it is celebrated. I have attached some links below for you to have a look at together at home:

We will be continuing our work on time, learning o'clock on both digital and analogue clocks extending to half past.
We will also be learning number bonds to 10, using numicon resources and problem solving activities to build and develop a sound understanding of all the different bonds to 10, which will then lead on to bigger number facts.
Our learn-it this week: 4+6=10
Other areas of development:
PSWBCD / RE - Learning about the traditions of the Diwali festival.
We will be making some traditional Diwali sweets this week using coconut, condensed milk, icing sugar and food colouring.
PLEASE CAN YOU LET ME KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY ALLERGIES FIRST THING MONDAY MORNING?
CREATIVE- Making our own rangoli patterns and diva lamps.
KNOWLEDGE & UNDERSTANDING- We will be exploring shadows both in and outside our school environment, then making our own shadow puppets to re-tell the story of Rama and Sita.
Home-Learning Task
Just a quick reminder, that the home-learning tasks will now be sent home every Wednesday, to be returned on the following Monday. If you have any problems or questions about the tasks, please don't hesitate to come and see me.
HELP!
I am developing our story chest which we use during our guided reading sessions and would like to put in some comics/children's magazines. If you have any you could spare or are about to throw out, please could we have them for our chest?
Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
