The children measured and cut the material ready to make our rag garlands. Lots of us found tying a knot quite tricky. We saw lots of perseverance and determination during this task, da iawn!!
Anti-bullying week
We discussed the ways that we are the same and how we may be different and how to be a good friend. We then talked about what is bullying and what does it mean before creating a story about a character called Sam who was being bullied. The children gave some very sensible answers and had some very thoughtful ideas. Here are some of the stories that they wrote.
The week ahead
With our last week of practise before the Christmas concerts begin, its practise, practise, practise! If your child has a speaking part in the concert, please can you help to practise their lines at home?
We will be reading 'The Jolly Christmas Postman' and starting our lists and letters to Santa. We will also be consolidating all the maths skills we have learnt through a number of problem solving challenges.
We will be continuing to make our rag garlands for the Christmas decoration competition and also making something special to sell in our Christmas fayre on Friday.
Resources needed
We will be opening our Santa's workshop role play this week, where the children will become Santa's elves; wrapping, packing, sorting and writing labels on all the presents. We desperately need any old cardboard boxes (not too big as the children will be wrapping them) and any old wrapping paper that you have spare ASAP. If you could ask relatives and friends too that would be great!
