Health and Well-Being Week

This week we will be carrying out a range of activities that link to the Health and Well-being area of the curriculum. The children will be looking at all aspects of this area, which include:

* Get Active – exercising can have a positive effect on mood and self-esteem. Do what you
can and find activities that you enjoy.

* Be Mindful – paying attention to yourself and the things going on around you can help you to enjoy life more and understand yourself better.

* Give to Others – giving your time, your words or your presence can give you a sense of purpose and boost your own happiness.

* Connect – spending time with others, talking, listening and making connections can help us to feel happier, more secure and build a sense of belonging.

The activities we will be carrying out will include:
* Making friendship bracelets.
* Dental hygiene.
* Sugar in drinks and food.
* Yoga.
* Zumba.
* Team games.
* Hand washing.

The children will work in their year groups and rotate around the above activities in groups.  Reception children will all be together, Year 1 and then Year 2.  We will take lots of pictures and share them with you at the end of the week.

As we are a Healthy School and it is Health and Well-being Week, can we remind you that ONLY water is allowed in bottles for the classroom.  Flavoured water and squash is for the dinner hall and not for during lesson time.

The children had a great week last week and filled their Good Choices Jar which means they had a reward.  The children chose a mini disco to celebrate filling the jar.  Take a look at the pictures below.  We are hoping that the jar is filled again soon.  Maybe we can do it by the end of this week Y Graig!

Here's to an amazing week! We are really looking forward to it.
